My love for photography started out in high school while a member and Editor of the yearbook staff. While obtaining my Masters Degree in Bacterial Molecular Genetics, I became involved in film photography and darkroom techniques doing electron microscopic imaging. My career proceeded into Cytogenetics where I analyzed prenatal and other genetic cases for abnomalies. There, digital imaging was utilized to capture cellular images of chromosomes for detailed analysis and medical records. A few years later, I joined a start-up company, called Cellomics, where I was trained and became an expert in the field of digital fluorescent imaging and proprietary digital imaging software programs. My last corporate job was with Applied Biosystems as an Applications Scientist for the Product Development department supporting sales & marketing, service, R&D and customers on the genetic analyzers (those instruments used in the Human Genome Project). During all my adventures, I was taking pictures preserving my own memories.
I have a beautiful family (3 children – 19, 5, and 3), and a wonderful supportive husband. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Inc. (PPA), the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP), Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), and on the board of directors for the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area (PPGBA).
My photography style is a casual and journalistic composition with an artistic flair. I add creativity to ordinary photos; at the same time, capture moments that tells a story to document your memories for a lifetime. I provide photography to the Pleasanton, the Tri-Valley, the East Bay and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area focusing on maternity, babies, children, families, high school seniors and athletes.
